I live in Liverpool, England and these tunnels are totally amazing. Nobody knows why they were built - some say Williamson built them to give unemployed men work, other theories exist that he built them because he thought that the end of the world was nigh - and he wanted to be safe underground! Either way, they are pretty impressive.
